What happens during the assessment?
A detailed clinical interview with a FRANZCP psychiatrist, validated psychometric questionnaires, a review of your service history and records, and a discussion of how your symptoms affect your daily life and work.
How long does an assessment take?
Typically two to three hours, including psychometric testing.
How long until my report is sent to DVA?
Reports are usually ready within two weeks of your consultation and are sent directly to DVA. Our team can confirm the expected timing when you book.
What does it cost?
Clinical care and DVA-requested assessments are fully funded through DVA with no out-of-pocket cost to the veteran.
What do I need for a Telehealth appointment?
A private space, a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. We send you a secure video link before your appointment.
Is Telehealth as effective as in person?
For psychiatric assessment and care, secure video consultation provides the same comprehensive clinical interview, psychometric testing and reporting standard as an in-person appointment.
Can I choose an in-person appointment instead of Telehealth?
Yes. In-person appointments are available at our clinic at 42 Manilla Street, East Brisbane QLD 4169. Most Canberra veterans choose Telehealth, and both follow the same clinical and reporting standard.
